Emami has signed Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to endorse its over-the-counter digestive tonic Zandu Pancharishta and is close to roping in film star Hrithik Roshan for two other brands.

No filing of tax returns if salary is only income

In a big relief from cumbersome tax filing process for the salaried class, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee yesterday proposed to exempt them from filing tax returns unless they have other sources of income.
The government will be issuing a notification exempting ”classes of persons” from the requirement of furnishing income tax returns, said the Memorandum to the Finance Bill 2011.

A new series of coins will be unveiled soon carrying the Rupee symbol, finance minister Pranab Mukherjee announced in the Budget today.
“Indian Rupee now has a new symbol, which has been notified for use by the Central and State Governments, business entities and the general public. A new series of coins carrying this symbol will be issued shortly,” Mukherjee said in his Budget speech.
