Apple has launched its first ever music-centric social networking site Ping that connects all its iTunes users and even allows them to interact with the artists.

Apple unveils new iPod Nano Touch

Apple Inc. CEO Steve Jobs announced a new line of iPods on Wednesday, including a Nano model that has a touch screen and lacks buttons. Like previous versions, the Nano has a built-in FM tuner and can display photos.

Now Government asks Google, Skype for access

India will send notices to Google and Skype asking them to set up servers in the country and give access to its internet data, a top home ministry official said on Wednesday.

BlackBerry gives in, agree to give access to services

Research In Motion, maker of Blackberry mobile phone, has given certain proposals for lawful access to its services by law enforcing agencies and these proposals will be operationalised in India, Home Ministry sources said.

Nokia to set up server in India; may put pressure on BlackBerry

Amid security concerns raised by the government over encrypted data travelling through mobiles, handset maker Nokia, which offers push-mail services today said it will set up required infrastructure by November to help the government monitor the contents.

The decision of the Finnish firm may put more pressure on Research In Motion (RIM), which offers BlackBerry services, to give security agencies more access to its encrypted messenger and BlackBerry Enterprise Service (BES). Suspension of BlackBerry service no solution: Canada tells India

Stating that security concerns are not specific to BlackBerry alone, Canada is understood to have told India that suspension of services may not yield any result.

The government has imposed a deadline of August 31 asking BlackBerry maker Research in Motion (RIM) to either provide a solution for monitoring encrypted data or shut shop. Sources in-the-know of the development that relates to security concerns that prompted the Ministry of Home Affairs to take a hard line, said the Canadian government has sent a communication to India. PCB might sue ICC if tainted trio found innocent

Miffed with the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit’s handling of the ’spot-fixing’ scandal involving Salman Butt Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir, the Pakistan Cricket Board might sue the ACSU if the players are found innocent.

The PCB’s senior legal advisor Talib Rizvi said that if the players were eventually found innocent, then the PCB would consider taking legal action against the ICC and other bodies involved in making the allegations and conducting the inquiry against the players. Lindsay Lohan can’t steer clear of trouble. Just days after she was released from a jail and rehab stint, witnesses accused her Friday of hitting a baby stroller with her Maserati and then leaving the scene.

Footage of the immediate aftermath of the incident was posted on RadarOnline.com by a paparazzi. Scotland Yard releases Pakistan’s tainted trio without charge

The tainted Pakistani trio of Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamir, which is at the centre of a ’spot-fixing’ scandal’ that has rocked world cricket, was released without charge after being questioned by the Scotland Yard in London.

Blast rocks UK temple; worshippers trapped inside

An explosion ripped through a Hare Krishna temple in Leicester in central England, causing fire inside the complex and trapping several worshippers.

The cause of the blast was not immediately clear, but the firefighters say one-third of the terraced property on Thoresby Street has been destroyed and is too unstable for crews to enter.
